i've got Peak 4.

i know Bay Village. i'm originally from Brecksville/Broadview Hts. moved down to Canton for school. it's not the most happening place, but i'm too well networked here to move just yet. if you can, send me a CD of your band to get to the owner and i'll try to get you a show there.

also in akron, is the Voodoo. i've seen a few shows there and it would be another venue to look into. if you feel like going 20 minutes farther south to Canton, the Football HOF city, there is a place called the Luna Grille. The Lime Spider as suggested is worth checking into as well as the Outpost ...

As far as mastering to make a record sound 'the same' I'd never want that. - mastering should make a record flow, and that only means getting it so from one track to another to be cohesive, and on a second level, when skipping around from track to track for it to feel cohesive as well. A good maste...

what's your budget?

you have to take everthing a song at a time, but still tie it all together somehow. as far as vocals go. on the last album i recorded, i tried 8 different vocal mics on the singer. we ended up using a 57 for about 70% of the album and a Peluso 22 251 for the other 30%. th mics don't really sound any...

Tele-> Boss CS3-> Vox Valvetone-> Ibanez UE 400 Overdrive first then Compressor-> Fender Twin. most of the time in the studio i just crank my 1950 National Sportsman and plug in. if i want to break it up even more i'll throw a compressor in the chain and use it as a volume boost.

I've yet to here the Benchmark AD - but the DAC-1 is definitely very worthy of consideration too

I've got a Benchmark System 1000 and a DAC1. These convertors are great. Very transparent and clear. Everything a great converter should be. You hear everything with these guys.

come on people...make all the pathetic excuses you want. if you aren't usig a legal copy of software it's wrong and you know it. there are no excuses. i've read too many "well i never would've gotten my start in the business if it weren't for cracked software." or "i only use them as extended demos"...
