Uprights project most of their sound out the back. I'd recommend pulling the piano away from the wall... if it is against one. Even if you're micing it from the front, let that thing breathe a little. I've had great sounds from micing an upright from 10 feet behind it... then it sounds like a piano ...

I agree that the drums and vocals are the most modern sounding things. There are 2 drum kits being played at once. Each kit has a mono Coles 4038 overhead, a 57 on the snare, and a d112 on the kick. No compression, a little mud carved out with eq... nothing drastic. Then a whole load of reverb. I do...
