AKAI M8 MOD
I've started stripping all of the guts and have nearly finished. I'm about to start the 12ax7 build. I wish I knew enough to post some pics. This project is really fun. I don't have the slightest idea what kind of transformer to buy. I'd like it to be a compromise between price and performance. If a...

So I think I wanna DIY
What tool do I use to remove the V and T knobs w/o inflicting damage? Does anyone have recommendations on the electronics replacements other than p/u? I'm also flipping my Casino for left-handed playing. Any advice on the bridge saddles? Can I adjust them to fit my playing or do I have to buy a new ...

F-HOLE!
How would you attempt to do the electronics on your own? It seems like you'd need a little telescope mirror and some probiscus on your hands to get thru the f-holes and install the pickups.

I wouldn't buy a new Tape Deck
They're not hard to find, not hard to fix and maintain, and not that expensive. I bought my 244 portastudio for $200, have invested $150 in maintenance, and don't see that it's going to die any time soon. It's a tank. I wish it would die so I can finally have an excuse to buy a reel-to-reel 4 track.

have to get back to you
I have limited time to record so when I get around to it again, I'll post if the problem was solved.
Again, thanks for the tips!

Phew!
I record room mic to trk 1 and snare to trk 2. I then bounce to trk 4. I make an erase pass over 1 and 2. It seems that they go away upon playback of all four tracks. I proceed to record dubs on 1 and 2. Upon playback is when I encounter the issue of having those drums appear back on 1 and 2. Is tha...

"NO EFFECTS BUT NOISE REDUCTION" after bouncing, what are you doing with the individual tracks? "ATTEMPTING TO ERASE THEM" my apologies for all the questions, but there ar...

Casino
I've got the MIK natural Casino and kept it stock. Someday I will switch out all of the electronics and flip it left handed at the nut. I have no regrets about this guitar and look forward to having it forever.

ONLY 2 MICS
57 on snare to trk 2 and ribbon 2 feet in front of kit to trk 1. then bounced down to trk 4.
I try to erase the originals but they somehow ghosted back on after I recorded overdubs to 1 and 2 of guitar and bass respectively.

introducing phase with eq
I have noticed this and it is the biggest issue I have with my recordings right now. When I eq and bounce the drums to track 4, any overdubs have to be flat eq since on playback, the drums are still on my buss and are affected by my overdubbing. Gives the cymbals a crappy phase sound.
