Plate reverb...
I just happened to be thinking about plate reverbs lately and happened to see a photo of one of those SE "Reflexion" acoustical barriers with the perf'ed aluminum sheeting... It got me thinking... What would a perforated metal plate act like acoustically, in a plate reverb-type setup. Could it be si...

Professor, I resonate with your post 100% here... Of course, I know that you are surrounded by acadamia and most likely have a great deal of respect for the words "peer review." I just hope that everyone else who would involve themselves in a project such as this realizes how vastly important that c...

(DISCLAIMER: I'm sorry guys - this is the first post I've ever made that could be construed as negative...) Well E Jeff, I have to say, I was definately onboard with you on this project at first, but man do you ever sound egomaniacal in that last post. You're kinda freakin' me out dude. So you want ...

Yeah, I knew of that option existing in wiki, I just wondered if there was any other way of doing it, but maybe that is the best way? I don't know.... would it be better to let everyone say whatever they want, however they want and then just like all synomomous concepts to one central article (that ...

Ok, I don't chime in very often, but this one really spiked my interest... I think it's a great concept! I have a few ideas that I thought I would present and you can do with them what you will (or will not).... One major issue I see is that of terminology used in articles. I bring this up because, ...

Re: Modern Computer Cassette Tape Deck...
I dunno, I thought it would have been freakin' sweet if they actually made these as a *drive*, I don't know how exactly they interface with the computer itself, but if they had built them as like an IDE drive that you could also store data on (like 600k, but hey...) I would probably snatch one just ...

Re: Mixing extremely high frequencies
Also, (sorry if this is a "duh!"), but if you want to have more control/sensitivity with you fader, turn your gain knob down a bit.

Stereo Comp. vs. Subgroup
I've been wondering about this lately, but haven't gotten a chance to try it out yet and am just wondering the implications... So, the console I regularly mix on is only 4buss and I often find myself wishing that I had a couple more, but it's sometimes so that I could set up another dynamics process...

Re: iPod voice recorder. 8khz digital audio. boo
Guys, don't know if y'all know about this or not but there is a site here where there is an ongoing project to port linux to the ipod. I'm really excited about it but I have a fourth gen, so I'm just waiting for the port. If any of you have one of the older gens, you could install linux and make use...

Re: Compression Tard!
Or, better yet... In a live setting, use expansion instead of compression. Compression could easily end up worsening the problem of drum bleed by actually making it sound louder relative to the vocal. Expansion works by pushing signals that aren't as loud as the threshold even lower. That's what you...
