yeah I'm well aware of Jackpot. thanks for the other post. I may be doing a lot of work around Portland in the future and just checking out my options.

Having Seattle so close does it make working out of Portland hard, or do Portland bands prefer to work in their home town?

searching for New York - Brooklyn studio

Looking for a studio in the New York area with a fairly large live room and good isolation for around $400/day. Something similar to Electrical's B-room.

Hiwatt?! I would have thought for sure Marshall. I just had a band in the studio 2 days ago with a Foxx fuzz and we didn't even plug it in. Would have loved to hear it now.

micing Djembes'?

does anyone have any micing tips for Djembes'? I'm having a hard time capturing that low tone they produce. I've tried several ways but I can't get the lows without eqing the shit out of it, and then it sounds fake. any help would be nice.

Re: Does anyone here have a manager?

No, just curious. But a few Engineers I have worked recently got managers and they're getting alot more work and more money, but at the same time they're having trouble cutting deals for friends and working on projects that they really want to. Is that the experience you had?

Re: DAW distortion

The track that i recorded back in sounded true to itself distortion free.
the track that was bounced had noticalbe distortion.
I heard this from someone who worked for Digi. I didn't have time to go into detail as to why this happens. I need ammo for home recordist.
