Re: Subs in the control room?
I wonder though, with all the work I have done acoustically in the room (Bass traps in particular, and MAKING diffusors) will this just cancel all my work out?

Subs in the control room?
Looks like I'm gonna be like that annoying guy that hangs out in the music store asking questions about every pive of gear, but... What does everyone think about having a sub in the control room. My band went to a really nice L.A. studio once that had a sub. I'm monitoring on Event 20/20's and somet...

Re: firewire vs. USB audio interface - does it matter?
I don't think there are any USB interfaces that allow more than 2 or 4 ins at once. firewire can allow alot more. I had a 16 in setup with firewire.

Re: recording bass guitar
I am assuming the strings were BRAND new, otherwise you wated your time tracking. Some bass strings go dead after playing for about an HOUR! I agree with whoever said get it 100% the first time, because you will kick yourself later, which you are already doing. I think it really depends on the musi...

Re: snare heads of choice for recording?
The evans power center heads last a long time and are good for a fat sound. The Remo single ply crack like crazy but they don't last long and they ring alot. I like the remo's. but get a few and try to tune the same all the time.

BBE Sonic Maximizer...what does it do?
I have one, and don;t know what it does. Is it the same as the Aural exciter? The BBE site had nothing to say about it.

Re: I feel like such an elitist inside, but...
Y'know, on that note, you kinda have to look at WHAT Behringer is. They are a 3-5 on the sound scale. Other companies who are at the same on the scale sonically are selling kids CRAP at a price they know they will be able to weasel out of peoples pockets because of shiny face plates. At least behrin...

Re: I feel like such an elitist inside, but...
What did on earth did he buy for $9,000? Could you get us a list? I'm finding it hard to believe that he found $9,000 worth of Behringer gear to buy. I'm also of the feeling that he bought it because colour coordination is more important to him than sound or function. Word. The whole point with the...

New to Tape
I am gonna revive this to try to get a good answer or two: I am new in the tape world. I have had a commercial studio run completely by a DAW for the past 3 years. I just bought the Tascam MSR 16. Anything WAY important I should know? Who do I call for maintenence, repairs and calibration? Y'know, I...
