Could this be a Mullard 12AX7?
I got this 3M/Revere Wollensak 1/4" Mono reel to reel for free.I opened it up to check out the tubes and found a 12AX7. It was labeled as 3M/Revere Wollensak.But right above that it says 12AX7A/ECC83 Gt. Britain. The Great Britain part makes me wonder if its actually a Mullard tube relabeled for 3M/...

Try something from Ashdown.Everything Ive ever played put out by them sounded great,and they arent terribly expensive.Im sure you could find a smaller one for a decent price.
