Would that be a centiBel? [<|>] deci = 1/10 centi = 1/100 The OP's question is what is too small to matter, not too small to hear. The question goes to the heart of the matter of mixing and cannot be answered for more than one place and time. For example, 1/2 dB in the Vox fader makes a big differe...

I had the great pleasure of seeing this at the 2005 AES with Phil Ramone introducing it with praises of the man. It also started my reassessment and reconnection with Skynyrd.

Just for the record, I asked John Hardy this very question a couple years ago. His reply was that reversing a DI (even the ones he sells) was like jumping back into an airplane.

That said, I don't think a flat out "no" answer would be in the spirit of the TOMB credo, eh?

Clocking question using aggregate device

Hi. I'm using an old Motu 828 with no word clock input. I'm thinking of adding a second interface. Right now, I have a rosetta 800 sending ADAT and clock into the Motu using the ADAT wire. In order to sync a second interface, can I run word clock out of the Rosetta? That is, is it the same clock out...

I don't know if anyone's ever done this, but it struck me that it might be a good idea to create a new ebay user and save individual searches for all the items that were stolen, it might get a lot of hits, but someone could filter it and ask questions about the items on a daily basis and see if anyt...

Logic automation

Try this. Highlight a track that has the panning. Or one that has any automation. Then use the key command for "Automation Event Edit." If you don't have one, create it. The autmation event list will appear. Then open a new arrange window (cmd-1) and it will be populated by event tracks instead of a...

One thing about ribbons

I believe this that I was told by Stephen Sank: As long as the pressure put on the ribbon is symmetrical, you can store and use a ribbon in any position. Laying flat with the ribbon facing down like a drowned man is as good as standing it up. Same goes for positioning. I used to put mine up to my am...
