CRAZY FACE

Hey all, Packy again, hopefully you don't mind me throwing even more music at ya. It's just that I've already made a few friends on this very section of the forum today and now I'm drunk with glee so I just want to toss my tunes all over the place... My buddy and high school jam-bandmate Jonny Johns...

yeah man, great swirl on that Hammond! And I'm a big fan of Home Fires. Kind of a more hi-fi Harvest track. And Neal Casal's in your top 8! You're the coolest! Friend request on the way...

Let's do it Joel! Christmas In America? American Christmas? Uncle Sam-ta Claus? Whatever the name I think I have a good idea what our backdrop could be :) And Smitty, I'm really only using the 57s because that's about all I got...but for now I see little reason not to stick with 'em. Oh, and I just ...

Thanks a lot guys! Thanks for the suggestions too; hopefully I can try some out before my buddy takes his half of the studio back--and tragically High Tonight and Same Train are now stuck as they are because while cleaning house I accidentally deleted most of the audio from those two sessions ...

I Am Not A Website, I Am A Mortal Man

Hey All! This is my first time posting my own stuff on this wing of the forum(jzahos once posted tracks I recorded from my band The Dakota), so I'm rather nervous... About month ago I had like a 4-day creative explosion and wrote and recorded a 6-song EP in my attic studio (Firepod, Cubase SX, Waves...

well I'm having a little trouble here with it still; it seems as though I'm just sending the bass and kick into a group with Waves C1 SC comp and unless I do hard panning and doing the chain in "L>R" mode there doesn't seem to be a sidechain relationship going on... what Waves comps can I use with t...

AWESOME!!!!!! I've been half-assedly trying to figure this out for a long time, and I pretty much gave up. I've never really done keying/sidechaining before, this should be very fun. Thanks so much!

You don't. It's still awful sampled guitar. Looks cool for demos or messing about though. I think I'd find certain sounds useful in a real session. Yeah I'm sure the keys, drums and maybe bass could be pretty killer in practice. Used carefully and in moderation, of course. Then again, what fun is t...

I've got a Valve Jr. and I love it for blown-out tones. A Rhodes in its super low range through that and a single 12" sounds wild! But I've been wondering...you know how they say you shouldn't match a speaker with an underpowered amp, for the clipping amp could put out lots of DC and therefore fry t...

They've got 2 samples up now...sounds pretty good! I've never worked with intensive, multiple-stroke guitar samples like those though, how do you get the playing nuances through?

They also started using pressure pads to automatically turn mics off & on; step away from the mic to play & the mic goes off, step up to the mic to sing & it turns on. jwp Haha yeah, I think the story goes Dan Healy got the idea for those when walking through automatic doors at the grocery store. I...

Oh, yeah, I get it. Basically what I meant was could a touring band today do a wall of sound, but with fewer speaker cabinets? I'm guessing you could use 30-50% the cabinets and have a similar SPL. Oh, I gotcha...I agree with you too on the SPL front, what with all the developments in line arrays, ...

A smaller club version of this Dead setup would be just the thing. You could roll in with your gear and when the sound tech starts asking you how many mics s/he should set up you could just say "turn off your house PA, we got it handled." Set up the "Partition of Sound" and go at it. I wonder if th...

The story I've heard is that for many reasons the band was actually having far less fun onstage and basically only listened to themselves in the in-ears, or even cutting out someone in their own mix if they pissed them off...and yes, plenty of other factors play into that demise too, not the least o...
