I really dug the masterlink, (especially the limiter!), it was my workhorse for years! Still use one exclusively >> in every studio ... like the out of the box feel. 8) A client can bring back a mix -- And we can simply re: EQ -- COMP -LIMIT the mix > from the master on board the ALesis -- viola ::...

T Things like the HD24 and Radar systems are great because you can link more of them together to get more tracks if needed. They do allow some editing, but all mixing and processing needs to happen someplace else. . Guess thats what first drew us to the Roland systems in the first place --the mixin...

A DAW isn't just a recorder, though; it's also a virtual mixer and routing system that facilitates DSP. And it runs on an OS that is built to do many things, not just process audio. And hardware recorders do exist: you have the Alesis HD24 (XR and not, both of which I guess got discontinued probabl...

I wish companies would make dedicated hardware recorders
Everyone always seems to be constantly upgrading Ram /Speed ...to keep that DAW flying. We are still using the Roland VS system , they have something in the region of 16Mb of total SDRAM, 2Mb of DRAM and 4.5Mb of Flash ROM spread around the system. One CPU is clocked at a whopping 7MHz - wee! The VS...

THe Welk show started me on the way to playing drums -- The program was on fairly late for my bedtime hour. So, I used to sneak out of my room and crawl around to the back of my Dad's chair . Peak around the arm and watch the show. I was hooked on the variety of beats the drums had to perform. Got a...

Used the Tannoys for years. Just had to move them out for Mackie powereds, because one of the speakers went down on the Tannoys (a $200 replacement speaker or a $500 jump to active monitoring, which we decided to pull the trigger on). Those cocktail drums look sweet! GJ They work in tite /quiet spo...
