Re: Best Wah pedal?

I like the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Wah. Not the one with fuzz, just the straight
up Jimi Wah. Nice WIDE frequency. I have been wanting to check out the Teese Real McCoy for a while. I've heard great things. In the meantime I'm happy with the Jimi wah.

Re: Quantegy is on the ropes...no more analog tape??

Yes I am talking about the company that will be making some great new tape machines and tape delays/ etc... I am thinking about buying a 1" machine. Should I wait? I would much rather have a newer one than take my chances on a used one. Any idea when they will be releasing their products? Do you kn...

Re: Closed studio, girlfriends go home.Does it make a differe

When we recorded our first record, the keyboardist's girlfriend came to one of his sessions and made him very nervous. I think the session would have been much more productive without her there. At the same time- a lot of great recodings from the 60's had lots of friends/girlfriends there. Many band...

OK, I'll bite on the ART MP. Have you modded it? I heard it sounds great with a new tube.

compact 1" or 2" machines?

Are there any small, lightweight tape machines?

If not, why? Surely with modern technology you could fit all the "stuff" required into a more compact, and lighter, machine.

Re: Mellotron - On the cheap!

What about finding a cheesy sound on a synth- like horns, strings or flutes...and recording them to cassette. Then playing it through a walkman with a waning battery. That would give you a mellotron effect on the real cheap. After all, a mellotron was made of tons of tape of poorly recorded instrume...

Electro Voice 665 Vintage Mic

I got this old Electro Voice 665. Looks like something circa WWII. It's a dynamic mic and it sounds pretty cool. Very heavy!

Anyone know anything about these mics?

What should I try it on?

Re: Vocal sounds across a record. . .

How would you feel if you put in a brand new disc and when the second track came up, it had a considerable increase in dB? To the point of leaving a ringing in your ears.
