Re: Gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

I would keep my eye out for a cool Daily Pick.

Today they have 2 Fender 18.6' instrument cables for $29.99. That's pretty nice if you need some cables or you could hang tight for a pedal or microphone to come up, which they often do.

Just figured it out last night. I noticed only half the session was messed up. There was some spot he oscillated and never returned to the correct pitch. So every take after that was a step high.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I don't think I've done anything to adjust the pitch or anything and don't see any controls anyways. And being this is my first time trying this all the settings should have basically been stock. Keyboardist is playing MAudio Keystation 61es midi via USB. (Haven't tr...

Need Help With a Sonar Midi Problem

I'm trying to record into Sonar 6 via midi and rewiring from Reason. Basically when our keyboardist plays and Sonar is idle everything is okay, but as soon as Sonar begins to play or record it steps up one step. I'm figuring something in is not configured correctly in Sonar but I can't find the sett...

Thanks, yeah I searched for that. I just realized that we have an old yamaha 10" wedge monitor laying around with a blown horn. I disconnected the horn, hooked up an instrument cable to it, ran that through a DI into the board. This sounds pretty good so no need to buy more stuff.

I want to use a speaker to mic kick. What is optimum size and ohm for doing this? Any brand preferred?

Just like in any profession some dudes are just dicks and some dudes are rad as hell. I would say you can look at this community and see most of the engineers here are nice and helpful to each other.

Just don't think about the dick engineers.

VS880EX. It was really difficult to use at first being the first time I tried recording anything. Oh and it was expensive as hell! Well $1800 expensive.

So she was using it as a control panel? Or just a mixer? Okay so as far as your piece of equipment goes you wouldn't really want to use this. The reason being is that your Tascam has stereo RCA outputs and 1/4" outputs and both are unbalanced. Running through this recorder is going to degrade your s...

Re: boxer

any opinions on the other national albums? i'm tempted to get them all... I've only got Alligator and Boxer. I love them both but think Alligator is a little better. There's some weird stuff going on with the air that sounds funny to me in the recording. Like air cutting in and out on the over dubs...

Recording: Recorded a young band who's bass player didn't know how to play bass. I had to give him lessons and teach him the song and in some cases play the songs. The band had no idea he wasn't playing anything. Dude had a Music Man Stingray though. haha Live sound: Did a dude's wedding. Some aunt ...
