I'm thinking of picking one up, just so that I can edit, etc. and not be tied to my Digi002.

How has it worked out for you?

I've had a Ghost for about 10 years that I bought used. Not only has it been really solid and reliable for that amount of time, I've found the pre's to be very usable. I do have a small selection of outboard pres that I use now, but have actually started using the board pres more in the last year or...

I've already mentally posted about 5 or 6 really awful clips to "ilikeyourband.com". Get it rolling, it'll be too much fun to handle.

I think a membership/ login is a good idea.

I have a basement studio where I work generally alone, do enough projects so that I can legitimately debate whether it's worth filing a Schedule C, but no more than that, and I don't really need to interact with mastering houses or full blown commercial studios. Turn the monitors up loud, and if you trust the player, he can rest the headstock on top of one of them.

Might result in scratching, and you have to be very careful not to put the headstock through the speaker cone.

I pretty much only do this with my own stuff, so I can only blame me.

Edit: Get a VST wrapper, like mentioned above. You'll need it. It's totally worth the $100 bucks. Fxpansion works really well.

I too have been using the 012 on toms for a while. I've had them about 6" out without the pad, while using the hyper capsule. Those little bastards are pretty hot without the pad, but for some reason the pad seems to take away some of the richness that I like out of it, so I don't use it as much. Ge...

I'll third the Ghost. I've had mine for about 8-9 years now and have never had a single problem with it. The pre's are more than adequate, and it's nice and quiet with a pretty slick EQ.

I love mine.
