I think putting an input transformer to the EH would raise the gain, do a search, I think it was discussed here

hey roddy, you can generally load a dynamic mic or ribbon (not a condenser) with anything from 1:1 up to 1:10 source impedance to load impedance ratio without peaking... above 1:10 you can have a rise in the upper register, or even a peak due to inductive effects. loading a mic down (anything below...

It?s not soldered but very tight fit, when I modded similiar I
changed the socket also ( and much about everything else )

It?s good to know the theory esp. when
miking ( micing ? ) but with DAW you can
use something like Voxengo MSED ( free ) ((if
remember the exaxt name right ))
allthough it?s still useless without some basics.

I have similiar box and it helps and when I do voice-overs next to
my computer box I just expand a bit at the treshold of the hum using
Neodynium. Pretty decent for substituting a real studio...

Any mods for Behringer T-1953 TUBE ULTRAGAIN, better tubes I guess?
This is not so good and I?m even worse with soldering so the easyest mod.?
To change the op.amps would be the thing but not by me I?m afraid.
