Correct me if I'm wrong, but Protools meters (as I understand it)aren't "real" peak meters, as they'll let things clip for a certain amount of samples-seconds without ever registering a clip. A few years ago, I was talking to some guys at Digi and they were all really proud of the fact that ProTool...

If you want to use a distortion pedal and not re-amp, you could always go through the pedal and then bypass the distortion on the plugin and just use it as a speaker simulator.

I did a song with a big muff into amplitube and it sounded pretty good.

One more vote for green. I own a green one and a black one, and I use the black one as a paperwieght. But my green Muff doesn't even compare the green one my friend owns. I've considered 'trading' them, but he'd notice immediately. The input and output jacks are reversed. :(

Will you ship to Canada? If so, how much would it cost?

Would you ship to Canada? If so, what would the added charge be?

Thanks.

Re: Question:Recording to internal drive on powerbook, skipp

At home, I record audio to the internal drive all the time without any problems. I wouldn't recomend it for multitracking, but recording stereo track is well within the data transfer rate of the internal drive. The skipping only becomes a problem when I try to record in a live situation with high so...

Re: Question:Recording to internal drive on powerbook, skipp

As I said, the skipping only occured while trying to record to the internal drive. When I used the firewire drive (120 gb Lacie d2) the audio was skip-free, but the band wasn't very loud either. These tests were all done using the PowerBook's line in jack, recording to a single stereo track. I tried...

Question:Recording to internal drive on powerbook, skipping?

I have a 1.5ghz powerbook and I've been taking a stab at using to record some live rock shows. As a test I got a stereo feed from the board into the line in of the laptop, recoding to the internal drive. Everything looked fine as it went down, but upon playback I found a bunch of skips in the file (...

Re: Small tube bass amp for recording?

Okay, what's the official word on running a bass through a guitar amp. I've done it before but people keep slapping my wrists and tell me to never do it again. Half the people I talk to say that it'll blow my speaker, especially with an open back amp (and even at low volumes). The other half say it'...

Small tube bass amp for recording?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a small tube bass amp for recording? I'm going to be recording live off the floor in a open space without much isolation, so I want something that I'll be able to drive without being stupidly loud. I was looking at the Mesa walkabout, but it has a fan in it. Has ...

Re: Waves R. Comp VS Hardware comps

You'll need the VST-RTAS wrapper from fxpansion to run the VST plugins/instruments in protools. Some display graphics can get a bit buggy, but it works.

Re: Flipping Phase after recording?

I'm not too familiar with logic, but I'm pretty sure it is.

You could always copy the audio to an adjacent track and run the inverse phase on one of the copies. If you get silence when you play both together, then you know it's flipping your phase. (both tracks will need the same routing/dsp)
