Re: What's shakin PL20?

Hmmmm. I don't have that problem. I can't hear the rattle through the mic itself, only when I actually shake the thing. I don't anything but ass kickin' kick when recording, so I haven't bothered with it.

Re: What's shakin PL20?

I have the same rattle in my PL20. It's not effecting it's sound in any way... this is interesting. I've owned mine for 20 years and it started rattling last year. :?:

Re: Studio Flooring Question

Here's the deal. Concrete doesn't absorb sound. We all know that. Carpet or other products do, but only in the highs, due to the limited thickness. You can, however, put full bandwith absorbtion on portions of the walls and ceiling (4" of 708 board). Carpet makes a dull sounding room because you're ...

Re: Long Snakes

I say you keep your snake coiled up and out of site until you really need it. It could be stepped on, hot cigarette ash could damage it... I mean, who wants to look at your ugly snake until it's really needed anyway. When you find you really do need it, pull out your snake, being careful not to dama...

Re: advice on a bass sound

I depends greatly on how the bass player played the part obviously. I just finished recording a cover of a McCartney song called 6 O'Clock, that appeared on Ringo's first solo album. This is for a Ringo tribute album. We decided to go for the tuba kind of tone you mention. What worked for me was pla...

Re: Best Wah pedal?

I did a session where the guitarist pulls out out his Cry Baby and his VOX wah when asked to play a wah part. We listened to both and the VOX really did it for me. I don't know who used what in the past but those 2 wah's had the the sounds we all recognize... the VOX sounded rockin'. The Cry Baby wa...
