Well , I do actually have an old RE-20 lying around. It's very rusted unfortunately . It died about three years ago.
I'll try and dig it out. I hope I haven't thrown it out !!
If all else fails , just get a new one. It will be worth it.
Great mic.

The frequency may be 1/6 lower if im running it at 50 Hz, and i dont kow what the increased voltage migh...

What has everyone been doing to correct (what I'm assuming) is too much ride in the mix??
Sticking a bit of gaffa tape on the ride if the drummer is a hard hitter and you don't need all the sustain , and some light compression on the overheads.

gates can make a big difference IMO. I'm almost always gating the kick and snare and if i have good overhead tracks i will close mic the tom toms and gate those as well. it can substantially add depth and dimension to a drum track if done properly. then again it can destroy some natural dynamics tha...

my Favorites:

Ibanez TS-9
Rat

I have used many distortions through the years and those two really stand out.
Any tube distortion I get through the amp.

i love compressing the overheads. I have used aN RNC in the past with good results. I have two old DBX-160 VU type which i love on the overheads.
it is worth experimenting with even though you may only need a little bit.

The best bands that I've ever seen at small clubs have flat out rocked, no matter what the sound system sounded like. there are few things more annoying than watching some relatively unknown band, who you just KNOW has less than perfect sound in their practice space, acting like they "just can't pe...
