Its a small room 10x9 w/ 12 foot ceiling. (This is my drum room where I rehearse with a gui...

I really like the UAD plugs but the latency is a huge pain in the ass. This is what I usealy do(PT LE w/ uad plugs) Send the output of all the gtr tracks to a stereo buss. Insert 1176 on buss, the plug this will cause 2048 samples of latency (in PT LE at the highest buffer) so nugde all the gtr trac...

Re: 48KHz vs. 44KHz
Yeah those 24bit CDs... man they could be 8 bits louder! It's really dismal that the comparatively huge dynamic range on CDs over vinyl get so squished to nothingness to be loud... ok... rant off. It's my understanding that it's best to record in the target sample rate or a multiple of it. So if yo...

Questions about using VST RTAS adapter w/ PT
I was thinking of getting the Vst Rtas fx expansion thing($80). There seems to be a lot of free vst plugins available. And since I cant afford the waves bundle I want, this could could hold me over. So what do I need to know in order to use vst plugins? Do they eat up a lot of cpu?(my biggest proble...

Re: how much RAM?
Does more ram really going to make a differance? in what way?
I have 2 512mb sticks in my pc currently, my pc has 3 slots( expansion up to 1.5gb of ram). My PT runs like shit with the newer 6.4cs9. I use a couple of dverb plugs and my cpu pegs out.
Would it help to run 1.5gb of ram?
