sell some of your blood and check between your sofa cushions to scrounge up enough for any of the following: shure 57 / 58, studio projects c1, b1, at atm25 (for bass/kick), oktava mc012 and the nady rsm-2 ribbon mic... ... or maybe you can build your own: http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.ph...

Re: SUB KICK DIY layout
fwiw, the yamaha subkick has a 6" driver... after a lot of reading, there seems to be a concensus among a lot of people: 1) the best results seem to be with 6" - 8" woofers. 2) frequency response should be between 60Hz up to 2kHz. 3) speakers with a soft rubber ring work well. 4) a pad is usually ne...

yeah, what he said...Slider wrote:I'd take Cubase SX3 and a fireface 800 over a PT 002 LE system anyday.
PT LE is limited and the RME converters are way better than the 002's. not to mention all the digital and analog options the fireface 800 has.
Good luck, I think you made a good choice.

Re: Has anyone used this to mic their kicks,,,, or anything
it's the plastic end caps they sell at home depot that covers the end of lattice work on a deck or something. It's just something I had lying around I wouldnt recommend it because the weight of the woofer makes it bend. use some angle iron or something like that cool. i'll take a look around at hom...

Re: Toft ATC-2
i thought the pres sounded really nice with a lot of clarity. i'll join the crowd on the eq and compressor - they're killer. ;) my only question is whether to buy the atc-2 or two ec-1's (single-channel version). the ec-1 has a phase switch and pre/post eq. does anyone know if they're linkable for s...
