Re: Your favorite recorded guitar part ever?
that gorgeous... confused... THING that appears halfway through pavement's "rattled by the rush" has to be the most awesome guitar part i've ever heard on record. no one could do it quite the way they could. any guitar part by them, actually, would have to be my favorite. and of course the thing tha...

Re: Computer Recording Question
i still use my SB Live! after buying my omni studio only because it functions well as a cheap midi interface. it also serves as a secondary bus for mixes i listen to, just incase i want to hear how they'll sound through crappy stock computer speakers. and at the moment, i have no professional monito...

Re: Active Monitors in $200 range (per pair)
Additionally, is there a way that i'd be able to incorporate the harman/kardon's subwoofer into my set up? it's pretty big and might make up for anything that my eventual setup will lack in the low end. i just hope it's plausible.

Active Monitors in $200 range (per pair)
i'm inches away from a perfect bedroom computer recording set up. the only thing missing is a set of bearable monitors. right now i've got an m-audio omni-studio that i can only listen to with my phones. anything i want to hear from a speaker has to get fed through my old SB live! value and eventual...

Re: A Switchcraft for Mr. Guitar
i'm familiar with the name, in fact i've used their products in pedal mods and such. i guess i wasn't being specific enough. i was looking for which model number or series in the switchcraft product line was preferred for this kind of application.

Very interesting site. Thanks for the info. One of Sam Fogarino's (interpol drummer) cousins is a regular, from what i see in the archives.

A Switchcraft for Mr. Guitar
can anyone point me to the model number of the switchcraft component commonly used as a replacement for a 3-way pickup selector in an epiphone dot/casino/335? i've been to other boards (harmony central, voxtalk) and they all say "replace it with a switchcraft." do they mean the ones at radioshack?

Replacing Pots/Switch on an Epiphone Casino
what's the best way to go about doing this and where can i find good replacements? i've heard that this guitar sounds perfect once you replace all the stock electronics (not including the pickups). can anyone lead me to an image of how the stock switch looks so i can figure out where to aim my conta...

Logic Delta vs. Logic Audio 5.0 (Retail)
i think i've made the decision to put Cakewalk Sonar to rest and move on to greener pastures. luckily for me, i have an m-audio omni studio, meaning i have logic delta to mess around with. i'm pretty happy with it so far, but i'm wondering if something can be gained by purchasing an upgrade to the r...

pd - Pure Data (like Max/MSP, but for the PC)
is anyone here familiar with this programming language? it's being billed as the answer to Cycling '74's Max/MSP (used by the likes of Radiohead, Jim O'Rourke, Fennesz, essentially anyone involved in 'laptop music'), but for the PC as opposed to the Mac. after reading the tutorials offered by the de...
