Thanks for the Page stuff!! Very inspiring. I love the panned track especially. What a terrifying bass sound!

Re: read.
Well, I just could NOT put this down. From the very first word I was hooked. It's rare to find a work that is so consistent, so focused, so determined and dare I say it, yes, commited to that one goal! Great literature has found a new hero, a new spokesperson to spread the gospel. Here friends, is n...

Re: what cubase version do you use?
Thank you for the feedback, but now that I found a price for my SONAR upgrade that didn't send me into shock, I have proceeded quite happily. Thanks again though.

Re: what cubase version do you use?
So.. 30 people have read this.. and NO ONE is replying?
Luckily I kind of answered my own question today and got a great deal on a SONAR upgrade, so this thread is dead baby,
Thread's dead.

Re: What Did You Work On Today? 2-05-05
I fired off a "no vocal mix" of a tune I got to play on and record for a friend who had an audition. She will have sung to it in a theatre today. Hope it went well. Other than that, did a lot of ebaying and reading tape op, and got to spend some quality time with my girlfriend as well. Split a banan...

what cubase version do you use?
Hello, I have UTFSF. Glad I got that off my chest. Now, for all the Cubase users out there, I am considering investing in cubase to record at home with. I have a Delta 44 in my PC (P4 1.6G, 1G of ram). I know that SX is up on high as the be all and end all. But for the musician who is demoing his so...

I don't think I will ever read the word "retort" without hearing Samuel L. Jacksons voice again. Love that part.

Re: Songwriting: To re-write or not to re-write.
I would say rewrite that puppy until you enjoy it. Rewrite it everytime you play it. Capture a couple of them on tape and let us hear it. Usually if a part isn't working its just because it is either too damn long, or it's not really part of that song and should be in some other thing. Most times it...

Re: My Oven a plate reverb?
Not knowing anything about plate reverbs affords me the laughable convenience of reacting by posting this response. I would say use it like an old school "chamber" reverb. Put a mic in there and aim your monitor towards or slightly off center of the oven cavity. Then adjust level of said mic to tast...

Re: What Did You Work On Today? 1-26-05
I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed and wanting to track some punk rock here in my little studio, had my fender deluxe all ready to go with my les paul custom!! Sat down at the DAW, and started programming the drums.. and programming.. and uh.. diddling. Fiddling. You know. Buzz. Killed. Any drum...

Re: Just Looking for some mic pre advice
Quick question: This seemed like a good place to ask: Say I purchase an outboard mic pre, and i want to use it with my mixer. Do I use it in conjunction with the built in pre's in my Eurorack, or do I bypass them somehow? I always wondered about this.. (or do I skip my board altogether and go straig...

DAW and reverb question
This is an open letter to everyone here: I am currently using SONAR as my main recording software. I track everything dry except for a little eq cutting and some light compression (the compressor/gate is my only outboard gear). What I want know from this most excellent forum is, how do you apply rev...

Re: MDX 1200 autocom compressor
I have an mdx1400 autocom pro. I just tracked some serious acoustic guitar rythm tracks through it with a Rode NT2 and I am loving the sounds. The gate on it is very handy too. Not sure about the expander, but I haven't needed to expand anything yet. It made my guitar sound very very sweet, and easy...
