anyone have one in excelent conditioned and serviced?

i think this is one of the coolest sounding guitar recordings ever. anyone know who recorded this album and how it was done? im going to be tracking a band with this style at the end of the month and would love for some ambient style guitar sounds like these. any tips?

glad to hear your enjoying the preamps garth. thats a nice little test you ran with the 002, im sure once you track an entire band with the sytek in your aresenal, youll be glad you made the investment.

if you want more stereo either use multiple compressors or stereo reverbs. you could copy and paste the signal into 2 channels Left and Right, then delay one channel by about 24-30ms but i would bet that wil sound weird and bad. the fairchild does an awesome spread in lat-vert mode.

while reading 'recording the beatles' they talk about a spreader knob used to widen the stereo image of a sound in the mix. i think they brefily mentioned it uses transformers of the sort but im still not aware of how they did this? anyone know what there talking about?

i didnt realize how many of their songs used some sort of varispeed. almost half of their songs on revolver and sgt. peppers (my two fav albums) use varispeed to achieve tones previously unavailble.

also that thing about using the monitors when doing vocal overdubs also surprised me.
