Re: Do they make smaller, cheaper patchbays?

I'd really like to get a patchbay, but I just don't have that much stuff going on in my setup. I have just enough equipment that I'm switching around just enough for it to be a pain in the ass that a patchbay would solve, but I surely don't have enough to necessitate one of these full 1U patchbays ...

http://www.carvin.com/soundsystems/ Carvins sound really good and there are some in your price range, depending on how big you need. Yes, Carvin power amps are death-proof. The Sampson s-11 vocal mic (though kinda more midrangy than a sm-57) is also death-proof IF you tape it so it doesn't come uns...

I have a single AT 4050, and man... it's a great sounding mic. Though I've never had a 414, so I'm not sure how comparable they are in sound quality, though they are slightly less costly. They have the same patterns as a 414.

Hypercardioid: dose it make that big of a difference?

So I've been thinking about getting a Rode NT3 to help me in my quest to kill off wayward hi-hat bleed from drummers who can't play in a studio. The thing is I've never used a hyper pattern mic, and I was wondering if it really rolls off that much noise that's not in it's 'line of sight'? Is it wort...

It sounds pretty good. Personaly I think you should brighten up the drums a bit more and beef them out too. Take the hats down a hair more and make the organ a little more gritty?

Over all it's good. :]

Project I did the other day...

Here is a cover of the Vaselines?s 'Molly's Lips' that I did the other day for my G/F. This is the first time I've ever sang on a recording in a non-'Riot Vocal' backup capacity, and all instrumentation, recording, mixing, and mastering was done by me as well.

Woo!! :]

My fix-all for this is to just have them play closer to the bridge. Have them play right on it if they suck that bad. It WILL effect the tone a bit, but it will also let you get a useable track which you can tweak later.

Free stuff that looks kinda cool...

So I was talking with the drummer of The Taste of Silver (who loves Linux) and he showed me these 2 free recording programs, so I thought I'd share:

I love, love, love my 2 US made Gibson's. No need to replace the stock pickups on either. I have the SG Standard and a Faded V. They are the best guitars I've ever owned. Get the real thing. Indeed. I too have a stock SG and it's pretty allround awesome. The only thing is it's not a screamer like a...

looking for a good 4-8 ch headphone amp...

I found an alto hpa-6, and a Samson that looked the part but I was wondering if any one had any opinions on any others?

I'm wanting to not spend more than $150, but don't want to get a $20 turd either.
