I would think it is most likely coming from the windows. The problem is unless you totally seal them up with mass it will not change. Perhaps change practice to a time that works for the neighbors?

I would try it both ways and see how it sounds. You might find having the bad pushed in the corner may just help absorb a bit more low end.

Isn't bass absorption almost always a good thing? Yes What's the exact point of diffusers vs. trapping, absorption? You keep some liveness, but don't get node buildup? Certain diffusors are designed to go to a certain range. For example a 7 root QRD goes done to around 700 hz and at that frequency ...

I was asking the opposite: whether OC sells the backing by itself (w/o the fiberglass).
Sure you can just buy the backing. Not sure where to get it from though.

I am guessing a bit, but I bet it would be ok for bass trapping. Though you might want to see if they have any lab numbers on it just to be safe.

I agree with the poster above. Even though some of the upper frequencies will reflect some of it will also absorb. A true diffusor will have a surface that will reflect 100% of the frequencies it is designed to diffuse.

You are correct Sir ! Back wall behind me right? I've been looking at your diffusors for over the drums myfipie. What do you think? bass traps better? Thanks for your time! Peace, Kevin I would stick with absorption to play it safe, BUT if you mix it up it could be pretty nice. I would want to see ...

It is not going to help with any kind of isolation. It may help absorb a bit more low end in the room but really you need to have the panels 4" or thicker and have them in the corners or if nothing else a few inches out from the wall. I would would spend the money but, like I said, make them 4" thic...

For your size room putting diffusion on the back wall will work fine. I a assuming you are facing the short wall and sitting back around 38% of the room length.

Just a few things. The ceilings are about 7.5' with soft perforated tiling. If this is a drop ceiling then straddling it really is not going to work as the corner is really above it. You would be better off to stuff the area above it with fiberglass. The 21 panels are 8 lb. per CF 2" 2' x 4' mineral...

I guess it is safe to say that if a corner is less then 90 degrees it could build up more bass in that area and wider it would build up less. But I am not totally sure if that is what you are asking. :D But the only way to really know how changing the angles affects the response is to build a room w...

I agree with JWL. Your going to need to slide around until you figure out what is the best place for the mix spot. It really is not the size room you have listed but also the area to the lower right that is not in the drawing.

A room is going to build up bass with or without corners being a certain way. The point is you can treat the corners to help correct the room modes.

I've got a long but small room (22.5'L x 10'W x 7'W)
Is this really the size of the whole room? On your drawing it looking like the bottom is open. If so you need to show the "whole room" size as the mix spot could be fine where it is at.
