I have over a dozen MCA SP-1 mics I bought for $39 each. They have modified electronics and are fitted with various capsules, stock, c-12, k-47, k-7, k-67. Each are different and all sound wonderful. They now cost $49 each, or 2 for $89. The capsules run $99 to $120 each. www.pssl.com www.microphon...

Liking the 67 capsules now? !

I have been an opponent of the Neuman 67 style capsules and that is from my experience with them and analog gear of yore, they only worked a a few female vocalists and there was always something that worked better on everything else. These days with digital gear I'm starting to like them. Anybody el...

If they're cool, infinite hours for tracking if they can pull it off and we're all feeling great. I've done 48 hours before.. Mixing, if I'm alone, 8 hours with at least 3 breaks. With band, 4 hours and notes taken, Then a couple more alone. In my early youth, I've done 48 hour mix sessions for 48 t...

I've had cable that I got from a studio I worked at in 1982 still working and they were old when they gave them to me from Big Apple in NYC, if anybody remembers that great place. Some still work. The ones that died did so because they were wrapped by "help" that didn't know how to wrap a cable but ...

There are a lot of trades where you go to school and presumably learn the trade thoroughly. When you get out you think you know everything there is. This irritates people who employ you unless they don't know any better. Maybe schools have gotten better, maybe mankind has gotten less arrogant, I don...

I had already been a full time engineer for decades when I found this board, but, I learned a TON about modding gear from Bryan, Eddie, Micheal J. and lots of other folks on here doing projects. Now I'm in demand as an amp mod guy in Memphis, something I don't even aspire to, but, it really is cool,...

I agree. Normal is for normal lovers. Normal to me doesn't work. Ciphers, cogs in the machine, not for me.

Equitable trade.

You need to get that fixed before it takes out your power transformer. THAT will cost you a lot to get fixed. Will you answer some questions? How old is the amp? When did you have it serviced before the pops? Have you tried changing cords? Did you see the shop test the amp to make sure they kept it ...

Don't be afraid to make an offer that's in your budget.
Ya never know what I'll take.

The CPS150 is for sale OR TRADE too, I'm using a much bigger supply now due to serious board modification requiring double the power.
