What else would cause dropouts with a Tango 24?

I recently acquired a Tango 24 to use with my 002r. I have no problems recording with the Tango as master and computer slaved to ADAT. However, when I try to mix this way I get dropouts, i.e., conversion happening in bothe directions. Switching the computer to master and the Tango to slave results i...

They used to call that a "drum tunnel" at Big Sound. I guess they still do!

Do you have access to a SansAmp Bass DI? With it you can send a clean signal to the amp via parallel out and use the drive feature on the Sansamp direct. Mix to your liking!

This must be an issue of particular importance for Mose. I saw him probably ten years ago in Cambridge, MA in an audience of similar size. Every time there was conversation or noise from the audience Mose would glare at the culprits. I guess he has a hard time hearing himself mumble over the solos. ...

Import the stereo file into your DAW. You should be able to pan to the opposite side or . . . split it into two mono tracks, making them pan-able. Then bounce, save, render or whatever to a stereo track . . . voila! That is to say, this is what I would try first. Good luck!

Bob Dylan was booed for going electric all through that tour. You couldn't hear Elvis or the Beatles with the screaming girls. . well, at least they were paying attention. that's different. it seems like this thread is about audience members who blab to each other and ignore the music, annoying tho...

People would pay more attention if you had a Waves L2 on the PA set to stun!  Funny you should mention it . . . I spent a good part of the show behind the mixing board. The engineer was using Venue, and it was fun to watch him use the same various plugs I use while mixing recorded musi...

I'm glad this discussion took off. It's helpful for me as an artist, performer, and music fan to know how other people feel about this kind of situation. Jeff Tweedy asked what he could do to be more entertaining, and this is a valid question. It's too much to assume that everyone in the audience is...

Have audiences gotten rude?

I saw Iron & Wine at the State Theatre, Portland, ME on Monday. Great show with the Low Anthem opening. More than half of the audience was engaged in loud conversation the entire time. It was especially noticeable during the Low Anthem as they are a mostly acoustic, quiet sort of band. Sam Beam brou...

Well, that went better than I expected! I got my ribbon material a week ago, then went on vacation. I got my chance to operate this morning. I cut the ribbon to 7/32", like the original and corrugated between the tops of two prescription bottles. The hardest part about replacing the ribbon in the mi...

That's where I'm at now. It passes clean signal, I can set q-bias, but the meter doesn't show compression, and I have a low voltage at +30--it's showing +22.5.

I'll get back to it this week, and hopefully it's some silly thing I missed when stuffing the board or wiring.

Thanks!
