It does sound like the power harness. I tour with a Digi002 and at least once a week this problem will occur, I called Digi and ordered a new part, which they sent for free for me to fit. They also told me the work around, which is opening it up and disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cables c...

I don't mind "recorded by..." In the times when I haven't produced something, I personally think it sounds more natural and part of the experience than "engineered by..." If you think it's important to be credited for each aspect, go for it! If a band are all present for the all mix and throwing in ...

I managed to get a free Electro-Voice Cardinal microphone after playing a show sponsored by them a few years ago (the joys of SXSW!) It sounds great on snare bottom, before I was mostly using 57s, 421s, 441s. I find myself having to do less to the EV and generally having the snare bottom feature mor...

I've played so many gigs in NYC. The smaller venues with 20 band bills are unavoidable nightmares. Having a booking agent has dramatically improved our fees in these venues from $0 to something. Thankfully these shows only happen a couple of times a year, so I roll into them like they're a festival ...

Got sorted in the end with a place in NYC,
Thanks for all the info everyone.

We travel back and forth to the states four or five times and year and we're always looking to get tracks recorded while on tour, so I'll keep all these places in mind!

Need a studio - East Coast - March 2nd & 3rd!

I'm going to be on tour and need to spend a couple of days recording, I need somewhere with Pro Tools HD, mac based would be ideal. Somewhere with loads of old drums, amps, synths and effects , space to record roomy drums, We play Brooklyn on March 1st and State College, PA on the 4th. So somewhere ...

live vocal distortion advice

My band is about to start playing a song live that needs distorted vocals. Has anyone got good mic / distortion advice to avoid feedback and still sound great on a pretty noisy stage? The track is here: www.myspace.com/oppenheimer It's called The Never Never. I didn't record the original vocals, so ...

I really like the song I heard on the site! If he's pretty consistent in volume but quiet throughout, you may just need to boost it, there's only so loud it'll be able to go in a live situation though. I'd say if it's an issue - a good microphone and good on stage placement would be more useful than...

yeah amazing band, great lyrics.
They were the first touring band I ever mixed sound for when they passed through Belfast many years ago.

so much wine, i know you are there, lie down, in the air are some of my favourites.

I'd love to read a feature on them.
