If you do want more square wave - the Great River NV series do it pretty well. You can get that Otisesque overdriven thing... check out "Heavy Hands" on our last album-

It's towards the end of the tune during the scream.

don't want to buy an 002/003. 4 crappy preamps to deal with instead of 2? no stank you.
Unless you then get those modded. They they rock!

Sure the gain makeup can be the desired trait of the compressor- with gain reduction or without. I'm just still trying find a way to separate the amp from the trees...

Thanks to everone who offered feedback, although I'm afraid I wasn't clear enough in what I was asking. Isn't a time clock's main benefit to synchronize multple digital devices? Yes although the focus has shifted... If my signal path is a mic into an analog mic pre into the analog input of a Digi 0...

while i like that there's more comps coming out in 500 form, i'd be a little worried about the auto-gain makeup. seems a little limiting (no pun intended). As I understand it that is how the API is as well. I have a compressor with seperate input and output. The output stays the same as you change ...

I fell prey to the 30 day money back BS a number of years ago. It goes like this: When I was around 20 (13 years ago... uggg...) I went into GC boston to see what they had for electric guitars. After playing a few junkers, I spy a custom shop Robben Ford hanging way up on the wall. The sales guy get...

It seems to me that, theoretically , the second reverb should be effecting the first reverb signal, ex. , the room reverb should, in the real world, effect a dry snare differently than a snare with a plate reverb on it. In the first instance, you would have the room-reverbed sound of an otherwise d...

I wish I understood half of this thread. Any one feeling kind enough to explain to me (or point me to good info about) springs and blocks? I'm pretty guitar dumb. I just play the thing. "Blocking" often times refers to the tremolo "block" being wedged down with a piece of wood so it effect it is a ...

Man I love classic organ jazz stuff. I got to see Larry Goldings, Jeff tain Watts and Paul Bollenback at the Zinc club once. I swear to god Jeff and Larry swung me into bad health that night. It was amazing. I've seen Larry a few times- man he kills the organ bass. Tain is no slouch either! I'm pre...

A few years ago I installed the Digitranslator demo to do something similar. It will give you levels and panning, but unless it has changed, I'm pretty sure you will have to reinsert all plugins. There was no plugin automation on the session when I tried it, so there is a slight chance that it will ...

Hey WB- Yikes is right. I got a 96pt bay, and I still need more points for subgroups more outboard (as I get it) and I don't even have my snake on a bay yet. It is pricey for sure, but the payoff is way way better workflow. Plus being able to half normal my outboard pres allows me to get a foldback ...
