I have the chance to buy a Soundtracs Topaz 24/8/2 board(miami vice color scheme) for $450.00. but there are 3 problems with the board. 2 channels are dead and 1 channel sounds like a distorted high pass filter(bad caps?). I bought one of these too. I was surprise how good the mic sounded. Then I bought a second one and it sounds awful, so I am returning the second one. So QC may vary on these mics. Its not the best sounding ribbon I have heard but for $99 bucks you can't go wrong....If you get a good one.

I do the same as :prime-rate: does but with a snare sample. Its a pain in the ass but works fine. I know Pro tools 6 has a built in click that works like a plugin but PT 6 is so buggy right now i would not use it for a real session.

this might sound like a dumb question, would it be possible to hook up a motu 828 from the adat optical inputs and outputs into the digi001 optical inputs and outputs so i could use the 828 a/d converters instead of the converters on the digi001? if the first part of my question is possible does som...
