Using pro-tools and the rtas version of the plugin, I can get atleast 5 instances of Altiverb on my dual 2 gig g5. (with plenty of room for other less intensive plugins). I belive you can just duplicate the figure 8 mic track and flip the phase.

I have not done M/S mic tech in a while. Not since I started using pro-tools atleast.

Technically I do not see why this wouldnt work. It is essentially the same thing.

The flexibility of alitverb at the price cant be beaten.

Not to metnion it is one of the best sounding verb plugins I have heard to date.

I would imagine a plate would really kick ass. But realistically I think Altiverb will give you more use and more "bang for the buck"
