I think peak (pro version) does a fine job of mastering and rendering red book cd's. It lets you use vst's and au's fine (the one's it comes with aren't that great though). It can do the fancy fade to the next track and standard gap between tracks stuff. I use it whenever a band doesn't want or can...

Anyone use Bias Peak for in-the-box Mastering?

I have my mastering set-up on a PC using CD Arcitect, and Pro tools set-up on a mac. I wanna completey switch over to Mac, but need a program similar to CD Arcitect which only for PC. I heard Bias Peak is similar, but I'm worried i won't be able to use non-proprietary plug-ins. Does anyone use Peak ...

5 hour studio blocks during the week and no week-ends. Ouch. Making a record 5 hours at a time sounds like a total drag.

The most important thing in a studio website is to quickly give the viewer usable information, not entertain them. The equipment page gave no specific information about the actual gear. The photos looked cool, but were lacking in the information necessary to make the potential client know if it's t...

Yeah, Big Fish is still around. I guess the owner is about to finally install a Pro Tools rig. I heard the already pricey day rate will increase once it's in.

Audix D6 in the studio. What are your thoughts?

I heard one used in a live setting and i sounded pretty good. Seemed like one of those pre-curved kick drums mics that already have the boost around 3-5k and cut around 400hz. I'm thinking about buying one for recording, but I'm a tad worried it might be too colored. Has anyoine used one in the stud...
