OP, if you want an all-in-one solution for "home mastering" (which I also do), you can look into Ozone or T-Racks3 Deluxe which was just released. Both will do what you're looking for. I used Ozone for my first CD but you have to be careful with it because it's very easy to overdo it especially if y...

I have just been checking out PodFarm. I own a UX2 so I got the PodFarm standalone free but the VST will cost $49. My UX2 came with Gearbox and I never used it - choosing Amplitube 2 or GuitarCombos over it every time. However, it seems to me, and I could be wrong, that the PodFarm models are not ex...

I "master" all my songs myself and it took a long time before I started getting decent results. I have used Ozone, TRacks, and assorted plugins. Ozone is a cool program but it is very easy to overdo it, especially if you're just beginning. I have found that I get decent results with SSL4000 Comp, L2...

Just to clarify, you don't need a 2nd internal drive for XP. You can partition your main internal "OS" drive, and install XP on the new partition. No need to buy another drive. The previous link I posted can show you how. Your XP and Vista partitions will show up in your computer as if they are two...

I'm the same way... I wish I had just formatted it when it came and installed XP so I wouldn't have know what I was missing in Vista for non-recording stuff. I like Vista and I thought I wouldn't and even though its only been a couple of weeks it seems really stable to me and I've had absolutely no ...

I'm sorry for snapping back at you timmy. Like you said, back to the issues... I have the BFD program on the C drive but it is recommended in the manual to put the samples themselves on their own HD instead of having them coming from the same drive that the OS is on. I was thinking of getting anothe...

VIsta is not your problem with BFD! INTERNAL EXTRA hard drive is better than external as a general rule, AND THE BFD file is considered a program as with vista.....they should all be on ONE drive. WHILE your audio should be recording to its own drive.....and internal drives run better hence less cl...

OKay let me see if I got this... I should get a new external HD and load XP on it... then reinstall all my software to that HD except for the BFD samples?? And from then on just use the boot option when I want to boot up to record?? One more question if you guys don't mind... I have an internal SATA...

I don't know... I haven't had any compatibility issues yet and I've installed all my software. I have 3gb of RAM and Vista was using enough that BFD was stuttering and I was getting Memory Low warnings from an 800mb kit. Anyway, I went online and did some optimizing tweaks and while its still using ...

I didn't plan on even trying to bother with the 64-bit Vista... and I am pretty much resigned to the fact that I'll probably have to format it and install XP (I do have a license from my current PC). However, I thought i might get around having to do it since I don't need a 300% increase in processi...

Vista question
I imagine this has been gone over before but I couldn't find anything in a search. I am upgrading, finally, from an old 1.3GHz 512mb RAM Dell PC I got used about 4 years ago. I have been able to run Sonar4 and 6 on it along with Reason, EZ Drummer, and a fair amount of plugins despite its specs. My ...

I too have the V69ME....spend a few bucks and replace the stock tube and the difference is palpable. I planned on doing that... what tube(s) did you try out?? What's your recommendation?? I have to say I am happy with mine. I will probably make the SM7b my next mic but before that I want to get a d...

I think tube mics really bring something to the table that every other mic leaves propped against the wall of the entryway, 'specially for close-up stuff like vocals and guitars. A real immediacy and texture and all the subtle, unseen life forces that other mics are blind to. For $300 you're not go...

Need Mic Selection Help!!
I am about to spend about $300 on a new microphone and I could use some advice since magazine reviews generally just sing praises. I have a gift card from Guitar Center so I can't shop for used deals and have to buy from them> I am upgrading from a cheap little MXL990. I use an ART TubeMP for a prea...
