Thanks guys. I checked the SMART status in Disk Utility and it says it's verified (surprisingly). However, you have led me to believe that it probably doesn't have much longer to live and so we're going to clone the drive and replace it as soon as possible. If that doesn't solve our problems, then I...

Applejack, PT 7.3, and Mac Maintenance
So far this week I've had to run Applejack twice on one of our PT 7.3 HD rigs to get it to boot into the OS. This obviously isn't a good sign. I was just wondering what kind of maintenance all you Mac users regularly perform. I was thinking we should run Disk Warrior once a week, but I was wondering...

If you're using 7.3, then I think what you're talking about is the Zoom Toggle button. It's located underneath the magnifying glass. Just un-highlight it. After updating to PT 7.3, its default state is ON. I hate that thing. Though I must admit, I haven't taken the time to figure out yet how it's us...

Thanks guys. I actually ended up using a piece of software that came with the M-Audio controller called Enigma. It lets you customize the controller through it's interface and then upload the settings to the device. It's a bit cumbersome, but it works. So far I've only tried it with NI Pro-53, but w...

Map plug-in parameters to MIDI controller in ProTools 7
Does anyone know if there is a way to map plug-in parameters to a midi controller in PT 7? It would be nice to be able to use all the knobs and faders on my M-Audio device to write automation. I imagine though that Digi left this feature out so you would have to buy one of their over-priced controll...

Thanks for all the replies, but still not quite what I'm talking about. What I'm trying to change is not the track height, but the waveform height/scale on individual tracks. In other words, the ruler looks different on one track than it does on the rest. Basically, the size of the waveform will cha...

Yes, I know that button that you're talking about, but that changes the scale of all audio tracks. I'm wondering if there's a way to change one at a time. Maybe it's a glitch, or maybe a key command that was hit accidentally. If you duplicate the affected track, it stays the same scale, but if you m...

Changing individual track scale in Pro Tools 7
Anybody know how to change the waveform scale/size on individual tracks in Pro Tools 7? This seems to happen to us for no apparent reason every now and then and we can't figure out why. Running Pro Tools HD 7.1 on Mac G5. Thanks a lot.

Yes, ME is a piece of crap!!! It came installed on my old Dell desktop (Pentium 3, 866Mhz) and it always crashed and ran slower than shit. Also, even though you could install up to 512 MB of RAM on the computer, ME wouldn't make use of it. I installed 2000 and everything was sooooo much better. No m...
