Hey, I play lap and pedal steel guitar... the Ernie Ball pedals are OK, but they use 250K pots. Most long time steelers prefer 500K pots.... less tone loss. I use Sho~Bud, Emmons, and Goodrich pedals. The Emmons won't work as a stand alone because it has to attach to the pedal bar on a pedal steel. ...

I use 1/4 inch plus a Masterlink. I do have a Cranesong Hedd in front of the Masterlink... which is way cool.... but will definately blow your budget.

I have the new Eventide 2016..... I don't know if you could do better. I will be doing some tracking at Studio G this weekend... I would be glad to tell you more or set up an audition of the 2016 at my studio in Long Island City...

I have a Calrec MK II a very cool modular console. 24 input in 3 buckets plus a center section and routing module. All discreet class A.... pres are great and I like the EQ....it is different than the newer ones.

Try out a Hammond S-6... all tube...3 octave keyboard ....it has a mono tube synth in it... plus a chord organ(96 different chords!!!!) and strings and flute organ stops. They only weigh about 80 lbs. and are pretty small. I have seen 'em go on ebay for under 200 bucks.... you pick it up, of course....
