Thanks for the advice. Even though it's supposed to have no bass, I can hear the bass more easily than on my previous monitors, which were the ART clones of the Yorkville YSM1. The low D on a detuned bass creates a deathly rattle that translates. But I'm not getting any excursion at the low monitori...

value notebook + s/pdif input for mixdown?

Can someone recommend a good value for a notebook and a compatible S/PDIF interface that I can use for mixing down from my obsolete all-in-one multitrack, that I won't even name for fear someone says, "just replace it with the computer!" (The answer is, after adding an interface and control surface ...

wtb: jazzmaster body

I have a maple neck without a body, and since there's no maple neck Jazzmaster I might as well roll my own.

I prefer alder and a traditional tremolo, control and pickup wiring. Finished or not. Thanks!

My kids have one and they get a lot of use out of it. I'm pretty hands-off with their music technology, so I don't know if you can replace the built-in loops and hooks. I've been tempted to try, though, because I've heard it all. They have had a lot of fun making a sample and intuitively creating a ...

This, and a USPS money order.

NS10 volume levels

I love the NS10s I just got. I'm powering them with an Adcom 535, which is 60WPC @ 8 ohm. Thanks to everyone on this board who read my last thread and helped me out. Here is my impression, followed by a question. At a sub-conversational level I hear everything as a whole. No problem with the bass: I...

The CZ-1 has the guts of a CZ-101 with a real, touch-sensitive keyboard. It's heavy. I had a 101 for 20 years until the batteries leaked and ruined it but you can get the darnedest sounds out of it. I use my CZ-1 as a controller for a rackmount synth/sampler and if I need weird or funny sounds, I us...

I think someone should start a false rumor that it's totally live.. but he did a thousand takes to get that one.

I think I'm going to end up getting some NS10s I found locally. Can't go wrong, eh? Should I power them with more than an Adcom 535? Should I look for a 555?

I'm interested to hear the answer since I'm in the same boat. I bet you should buy a sub for what you have.

I posted a WTB on craigslist. Someone replied with a pair of JBL 4412. Those seem like they'd do well with the low end. However, I don't think they'll fit in my room.

All the time. In my situation, I'm able to act on those feelings. I would definitely add some handclaps if I could.

I just read the entire thing and listened to some of that Gin Mill Julep. Nice.
