I had the same problem, but one thing that has helped of late is building the mix in a different order ala J Hall.. starting with the kick and bass working together then building the rest of the mix around those center points, assuming of course, that you are mixing hard(er) rock

sadly, not where I live - upstate NY - any kind of recording/music technology/etc... is taught by one of the resident music teachers, whether or not they're really qualified. And there aren't many hired anymore. They're the first thing to go (along with art) when budgets get tight.

Apparently, you turn all the knobs all the way up, and run Billy Joel into it.

toms are too loud on world class hero
they're the only thing panned very hard, and stick out like crazy to me in a distracting way.

other than that nit pick, sounds like a great straight ahead punk album, as much as myspace translates any thing to "great"

I'd say goodbye to the click. If it works live, why shouldn't it work to tape?

That said, if a click was imperative, I'd track each section separately at the desired tempo and edit it together. (shudder)

A lot of those cats play through twins or a roland lazz chorus or a polytone or a clarus If hes having feedback problems, tell him to turn the bass down a bit and stand next to his amp. Solid top archtops aren't really meant for super-high volumes, which is why many of the modern cats play laminate ...

I really like the song. . . Maybe its because I just woke up and not listening on my studio speakers, but it sounds like the bass guitar is panned a bit to the left. If so, I'd put it dead center with the kick In general, the right channel seems neglected. If the drums are going to be heavier on the...

Most likely you won't need any conversion. I've used audition quite a bit over the last year or so. It just saved the audio for each track as a WAV file which can then be imported into any DAW. That was my experience, anyways. Sadly, my mixing box is down (system drive exploded), otherwise I'd be ha...
