I think the answer is no, but I want to be sure. Is it possible to include track markers or indexes in an mp3 file (similar to tracks on a CD)? I've tried searching here and on google, but I can't come up with non-ambiguous search terms...
Thanks

so i created a new session and mapped the audio to the C: drive (which is a 40 gig IDE and just runs the OS and software) and there is no latency problem. so problem band-aid fixed for now at least. i can record on the c drive and just use the sata drive for storage. i think i either have a bum driv...

Latency, could it be the SATA drive?
My setup is this: Win XP 3Ghz P-IV 1.5GB Ram 1 TB SATA hard drive M-Audio Firewire 410 Cubase SX3 This is a new (for me) computer. My old system (slower CPU and only 512MB of ram, but IDE hard drive). The m-audio HW buffer is set to 128 samples. In the VST Devices Setup screen, Cubase says latency i...

Bringing technology to the stage...
So I am in a live hip-hop band. We just lost a keyboard player and now there are only 3 instrumentalists (bass, drums, guitar). we're looking to expand the range of sounds we can create in the live setting. Our drummer plays a hybrid acoustic-VDrum kit. My thought was to link his VDrums to a laptop ...

Key input for a gate using Cubase SX2
I am mixing a demo for my hip-hop band. Unfortunately, we did not record to a click, so I'd like to use the kick drum track as a key input to trigger a gate to open on a secondary kick drum or subwooferish type of sound. Does anyone know of any plugins that can accomodate this in Cubase SX2?

Sounds like a PT or a hardware issue. Open up the m-audio icon down by the taskbar and see if you're monitoring sound to that point. If not, then it's a pro tools thing. I'd give 'em a call. It's really hard to troubleshoot not-very-obvious computer problems without being in front of the the comput...
