AKG N46E Phantom Power Units with Bass Roll-Off
These are older phantom units for AKG's original 451s. 9V in their current configuration I believe. They are also set up for bass roll-off. They can be modded for 48V phantom but I have no idea how and I can't find the AKG forum post that mentioned it. No schematic either. I have never used them so ...

If I get bored and go back to Gearslutz... It all makes sense now! Sorry, tapeop, for trying to defend some of this guys points.. My point exactly--even belonging to another board is a sin in the Tape Op church--especially one that has a "high end" forum. Forget any of the numerous rational points ...

your 'substance' was buried so deep in bullshit 'you hippies actually love money' rhetoric and complaints about a play on "assistant engineer" that i glossed over most of them. music is not like fashion in that it is an art not based in status, and is often meant to be enjoyed in groups. if i have ...

The Sun City Girls are selling out of print first pressings for $50, nothing new there. What I'm describing is what it took NOT to give up the youthful ideals I generated when I was a sarcastic jerk like you--but what it will realistically take to fund them moving forward. If you're still involved i...

Wow. Sounds like a lot of money issues here. Keep investigating your artistic selves and you'll find that you don't actually hate money, just those who think it can do things it can't (and yo may not even hate them). You might even admit that you want more money in your life. I do. Since a few peopl...

By the way--who the fuck labeled me "ass engineer"? Fuck you tape Op. We all go through it. It's the ranking system. You'll be "ass engineer" until you've posted a certain number of times, then you'll be something else, I forget what. "gettin' sounds," probably. Just like a fraternity, huh? A littl...

Hi Peter, Music has variable pricing but not true floating prices like every other industry. Only with floating prices (with demand dictating price) can an independent band who may reach a smaller audience be important enough economically to get the attention of, successfully negotiate with and orde...

The ONLY thing that can happen to the music industry is what happens in every other industry on earth--ball bearings, oil, doilies and pork bellies included. That is price differentiation. Where higher demand equals higher prices. Better songs cost more. If the labels fail to realize that now, whoev...

I got the Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5s. They're pretty darn inexpensive and I believe they have dual drivers--one of the main selling points of the E5s, which are considerably more. The Shure E4s has a single driver I believe. They sound great. The wire if a little thin and my 1/8" jack broke, but the ...

I think it sounds pretty good. I laughed when I saw the name--I'm working on a song titled that as well. I'd make the kick pop more--even if that meant it needed something behind it, but I have a pretty pop/hip-hop sensibility. I'd probably compress the bass a bit more and tweak the volumes here and...

It's complex so it's okay not to understand that it's stealing? I don't agree. Understanding property rights--and that includes intellectual property is key to achieving just about any change you want to bring about--from economic growth to a more just distribution of wealth. You won't do this by sa...

IMO, there are no such things as illegal downloads. Only illegal uploads. If I have time later tonight, I'll even link to a portion of copyright law that can be interpreted as such. There are no "illegal music downloads." Copyright law prevents one from distributing materials without permission, bu...
