ribbon mic
You probably can't find anything about it because it is considered a trade secret, and they would not like you to know, because you could make copies here, and that would hurt thier business. (Very Understanding) But, as far as comon knowledge stuff goes, these mics produce ~1ohm after the ribbon an...

keyboard replacement
Not bad, it only took you two years and some advise from TapeOp to fix the problem. I guess your only other choice other than replacing every resistor, was to replace the keyboard? I didn't mean my last post to be mean, but I guess you took it the wrong way. I see a lot of people on this boar...

good fix
Great job, I guess I was wrong. I have stuff that is way older than that keyboard and never have had to replace resistors. Humm? Well anyway you fix the problem. I would have guessed that you replaced the cold or old solder joints, which is mechanical in nature, which fixed the problem. Anyway you r...

cut out.
One thing that would cause a complete cut out of volume and hiss etc. is the heater voltage. If you loose heater voltage you loose sound, (usually the 6vdc). quick check, see if the glow in the tubes cut out. Most likey you have a bad connection on the tube sockets or something like that. When you p...

noise
I've always thought of a resistor as a passive part, either dead or alive. Never heard of a dying resistor? On another not your problem sounds mechanical not electrical. I have worked on many old items, and found by knowing electronics sometimes helps me eliminate electronics as the problem. hint: C...

lamp
Use a Neon lamp on the input side to the AC transformer (120VAC). This will act as a noise filter, if you put it across the two input wires to the X-former. If you buy the Pelesu capsules they come with the two diaphrams back to back, and with wires. You can get some tips for voltage ratios in the S...

Carpol, You should make it multi-pattern it is easy. Or, another thing to add is a three position switch to the capsule bias voltage. This will allow you to run the mic in three different bias curves. This way you can run it hot or not so hot, which will make the tube saturate easier, or not. THis c...

phase problem
I thought you said in your post that the non-tube mics you have work? If they work through the Vintech, then maybe you have no problem with the vintech. All you are doing is changing the phase. Did you say you are recording this mic and listening back through headphones? or music in the control room...

Radio Frequencys are too high for what you hear. This is a problem with 60Hz, 120Hz etc depending on you diode rectification configuration. THis all comes from your source AC and Gnd.

I don't think the AM radio station will affect you since all your gear is balanced.( I would still put a RF filter on the AC input to your box. What type of mixing board or preamp are you sending the signal too? Also how loud is loud, when you have it up? After you have it up for like five minutes, ...
