Tony Visconti and the Belkin FM transmitter
Hi Guys, I was reading an old Tape op today. In it Tony Visconti reviews a Belkin Fm transmitter which he connected to the output of hi masterlink then auditioned his mixes via this through a variety of small radios, boomboxes etc. I would love to do this but have had bad luck with Belkin Itrip in t...

All the plugins have demo periods if you want to just try them and use them to sort your problem. Plugs like Stillwell's Transient Monster have an unlimited trial period, but are very very reasonable to buy. Bitter/Sweet is FREE FREE FREE!!!!!! look up Flux plugins on google. That sounds great. Have you tried something like Transient Modulator (sonnox), Transient Monster (stillwell) or bitter/sweet (flux)? You could automate this to just affect the few spikes you have. Otherwise plugs like MCDSP'S AC1 or AC2 are great at rounding off transients. Or even just place a limiter on the snare tr...

distorting a mix
I have been mixing songs for a client, and one in particular is very in your face sludge blues. He is adamant the mix needs to be "driven" more. I kind of agree with him but it easy for it to sound like it came off a dictaphone doing this. I want a beautiful kind of distortion. I've been driving the...

Anyone mixing to Cassette?
Not a late april fools I assure you! My client loves what his fourtrack does to his demos. Can't quite get that sound from the full album mixes. He wants to try dumping them to his 4 track. I'm not too keen on the idea, as I will have to convert the mixes back to digital through my 002, and its one ...
