Beyer M160 Pair on an Upright Piano?
Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to use a pair of Beyer M160's on an upright piano recording? I have a job at the end of the month where we are going for a vocal/piano live recording setup. I usually record Upright Piano with a pair of SDC at the back of the piano facing the soundboard, ...

Tape Op Issue 20 WANTED (Rare Book Room Interview)
Hello, I am really obsessed with the sound of the records that Nicolas Vernhes is producing for Deerhunter and others. I can't seem to find issue 20 with the interview with him in it. There is a taster article on the website but when you click on the 'buy digital' issue 20 is not available in the ap...

FS: ADAM A7 Pair / RME ADI2 ad/da (UK/EU)
Hello, I wonder if many UK users frequent this part of the TOMB. Worth a try. 1) I have a pair of excellent ADAM A7 monitors which I bought from new from dv247 in the UK. I have never driven them hard and they work as well as when I bought them. I have the original boxes and power cables and manuals...

Hello, I couldn't get the link above to work but I followed the posterous link in it to your page. Is the image from "She's your lover now"? Sounds cool and weird but the piano sounds like it is in a different room, that is unless its just the piano bleed on the vocal mic? I love the strangeness of ...

I am concerned about bleed not in the sense of having a completely dry vocal but to control it best I can, its the ugly off axis response which is usually the problem. I've recorded a 5 piece live band in a west walian cowshed without any separation so believe me I am all about capturing the essence...

Upright Piano and live vocal recording
Hello, Just wondering how you guys would approach this setup? I'm going to be recording a singer songwriter and the brief is to do it live. The artist is seasoned with 20+ records out and can definitely pull off a live vocal with the piano. It is low budget but high level artistically, with a rural ...
