Has the amp ever had a cap job? If the warbling sounds at all like "motorboating", it probably means the decoupling caps in your preamp are going belly up.

Does it always make the sounds? Do they increase or decrease when you use both channels?

You could always try a noise gate pedal at the end of you effects chain. Never tried one myself, but this is what their made for. I know Boss and MXR both make one, and I imagine there are others out there.
