I totally feel for you, that does suck pretty bad. Most of us mac users know not to buy any computer within a couple months of Macworld unless it's an absolute emergency and it will pay for itself. I'd keep an eye on the price match thing, I'm sure the slower macs will drop in price - they always h...

I was mad at apple, and now I'm venting on the internets.

I've been buying macs for years...ya know lusting after the BS. So, I bought an Imac yesterday, and voila, today it's the same price and twice as fast. So, I call the local mac store, and I'm in luck! I can pay a 15% restocking fee and get the new one. So, for making the mistake of buying mac pre-Ma...

Also check with avedis about the tester chips he makes with the 2520 opamp footprint. You can throw a cheap chip into the socket to test before throwing your precious fancy opamps in. I of course destroyed not one, but two before discover these things...

The Jazzmaster...I think I finally get it...

I just picked up a jazzmaster frankenstein guitar and OMG. I've always thought they were pretty, but i never realized the crazy but beautiful sounds you can get with them. Mine has some repro neck and tuners but original electronics/shielding. It's baby blue...like an easter egg. It looks silly in D...

So much fantastic lustful love for Neve compressors...and I've never really checked into it! It's not like I can afford on anyway. But, I'm curious what the attack and release characterics are...can you do a poorman's version with a distressor or fatso? Or, is it just a tone thing, like most Neve st...

I still love 'em... but, god damn, I wish that Steven would start really playing drums again and Wayne would play guitar. I've followed them forever, seen too many shows to count, and have all of their recorded output. As much as I like everything that they've done, Clouds Taste Metallic is my abso...

It's funny, I did bum out a little on the article, simply because my hard drive is full of songs with saucy titles like "12/21/2005." :? I actually think the guy makes a pretty good point, but the article doesn't really say what happens after people realize gear has take over their lives. I like wha...

I don't know about the 15", but my 12" is quiet in cooler weather. Get the temp into the 90s and I think all bets are off with any mac. Or possibly any computer for that matter. I really can't say enough about how much quieter it is just moving away from the computer and getting a tranzport. Even wh...

Hmmm...thanks for the heads up! if I didn't hate windows SO much (use it at work everyday and hate it), I'd look at a sony vaio or something. Ooooh, I'd watch out for the Sony Viles. We had to throw out ALL of ours here at work (like 17 of them). Totally sucked. Maybe they have fixed the line (ours ...

Hiya, Yep, I have a 12" pb 1.33 ghz and the oo2r. It's fine. It never really starts biting it until you're running newer waves plugs that are notoriously cpu hungry. I use mine for everything, but these days mostly as a tape machine. If you're going to rely on plugs, get the most computer you can......
