I haven't used the c4's, but I did an a/b of oktava's and AKG C1000's as drum overheads and the Oktava's won hands down, if that helps any.

I'd have to say it's worth the money. The fairchild and 1176 emulations are worth the money alone imo. It's definately the best investment I've made for my DAW.

I have Pro-Tools LE, and Nuendo 2.1 on PC. I use them both quite often. If I'm tracking, I'll use PTools. With my personal experience and my current computer setup, it just runs more stable.
