Sonicgirl - I'm guessing, but you may have a bad stick of RAM or a bad mother board. Pull out everything. Put in video, one stick of RAM and hard drive only (set to master on the first IDE port). I just got rid of about 50 EQ and Mix magazines today. I'm not gonna buy those anymore. I can always read 'em at the bookstore. I didn't get rid of any TapeOp. Why not take some back issues on your plane trip???

Caz - I've been thinking of doing the same thing but with three panels instead of two. It would make more of a box shape. Line the thing with foam, cover the top with some heavy blankets and you're in biz. Not exactly sound proof, but dead and cheap for sure. Good luck!

I've got a C3000. A bit "crisp", but it's OK. I'll use it as a room mike sometimes. I wouldn't buy another one. I use the D112 as my main "inside" kick mic and love it. I think you can probably get better deals (and better sounds) for less $$$. Try MXL, Studio Projects, Oktava...
