putting the computer in another room and using extension cabes is a great idea.

the second best is to make your pc nearly silent. silentpcreview.com rules.

use AMD, because their chips tend to run cooler (from my anecdotal experience), and therefore you can really undervolt your fans.

if you happen to wire it incorrectly, just flip the phase at the console.

big church? are all instruments running through the PA?

if you use a directional lav and some filtering (dont record a gate or compression) you should be alright.

the stand in your original design would likely kill someone if it fell on them....

so thats a plus.
