Yeah the Gotohs would work if you're not trying to keep a traditional Tele bridge. The solution on TDPRI would be great as long as the strings won't skip around on the bridge.

I'd bet a lot of folks are either using it as a mono compressor so they never heard it, or they're using it as a stereo compressor and the bleed isn't really shifting things enough to notice, or enough to be a problem for most people. I do this all the time, specifically between compression and EQ. Generally I like to do any surgical EQ pre-compression. If I get a guitar/drum/bass/whatever track balanced, removing any boxiness for example, before compression then it's a lot easier to operate the compression and get it to do what ...
