Randyman... that's awesome! Petereson from DIYRE is one of the best dudes I know. I'm so glad the Colour platform seems to be taking off, always love seeing them get into people's hands. This is definitely a company to support.

i filled out the application and several others a few years ago looking to supplement my income with a part time job. it was like most others, online or at a kiosk. after a few dozen of these multiple choice 'aptitude tests/personality profiles' full of mind games, i started thinking they might act...

I went on a similar search myself end ended up getting into recording my own reverb impulses for convolution reverb. I got a Zoom H4N (which is surprisingly great quality, both built and sound). I can record using the onboard stereo mic, but I've also plugged in a pair of Neumann KM84s, and for one ...

Yeah the Gotohs would work if you're not trying to keep a traditional Tele bridge. The solution on TDPRI would be great as long as the strings won't skip around on the bridge.

Ah, I hadn't thought about the difficulty/expense of the hardware since it's a 12 string, good point. It can be hard enough to find reasonable hardware for a 6 string like a Jaguar, I can't imagine having much luck with a tele-style 12 string bridge. Still nice to know where you can get something th...

I bought one of these Cozart 's offa the E-bog. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTQ5MFgxMDAw/z/DR0AAOSwPe1T6RIr/$_14.JPG Mine is a solid-body Tele-style, and it's a kinda crappy instrument. The finish is poor, the frets not so smooth on the ends, the pups not too strong, and it's incredibly light, remind...

Very cool. Nice EQ points for the filters too. I've had the Keymaster on my list for a while, but maybe this would, as you mentioned, be more convenient.

New one-man-band indie rock album - first single

Decided to start a new thread since there's such a gap between the last album I put out four years ago and this one. Here's the video for my first single, called "Don't Get Comfortable" on Wissahickon Records: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqKYPUBsoX8 http://s14.postimg.org/45x2evmpt/Don_t_Get_Com...

Very nice, man! I listened through the whole thing as I was working on some things today. The instrument arrangements really appeal to me and really keep things moving. The whole album has a kind of feel to me like you'd be in a big, maybe drunken, but attentive group of people singing along to it. ...

I don't know if anyone still sees this stuff, but after four years of only working on clients work only (recording, mixing, mastering work), I'm finally coming back to it and putting out another album. The new material is considerably different than the last album, but those who were into the last a...

I'd bet a lot of folks are either using it as a mono compressor so they never heard it, or they're using it as a stereo compressor and the bleed isn't really shifting things enough to notice, or enough to be a problem for most people. I'd think it would be a bigger problem on a full mix than on some...

I do this all the time, specifically between compression and EQ. Generally I like to do any surgical EQ pre-compression. If I get a guitar/drum/bass/whatever track balanced, removing any boxiness for example, before compression then it's a lot easier to operate the compression and get it to do what ...
