Yeah oblique strategies went away for some reason. It's made by the same company as "ProTransport" and on their website it just says "Not Available."

+1 on Tempo and ProTransport. Tempo is my metronome when I practice and I use the tap tempo to figure out bpm for recording. Transport has been awesome for recording myself - though I will say it was extremely flaky and buggy until I got a more modern router. As far as synths go - I've used Bebot on...

I call bullshit on all that. The key factor is matching the frequency of shell resonance between the left and right bugs. PS -- mice don't resonate, they just explode. I talked to an entomologist/audiophile friend of mine about this. The problem with that is the fact that shell resonance changes ov...

Hey Hey! So, I would actually recommend going with modern clones, even if some of the less critical parts, like the exoskeleton, are made in China to save cost, some companies will use NOS parts for the elements that are going to most critically effect the sound. -Archmart I knew there would be an ...

Cockroaches and monitors.
I'm sitting here in my basement 'studio' playing with my toys and whatnot - when all of a sudden I see a cockroach crawling on my right monitor. (KRK.) This being New Orleans - cockroaches are an unavoidable fact of life. They are also the size of my fist. So - I grab a piece of cloth and attempt to...

Dunno if you're into diy... But my favorite boost and od that I have - I made myself. I buy the pcbs at www.generalguitargadgets.com and then pick up the components from www.smallbearelec.com.
Tis cheap - and chicks dig it when you make them stuff.

Looks like a 3-pin din connector. Some old Shure mics used those, and some other companies too (Amperite for example). Shure used a different pinout than most everyone else. http://www.electronicplus.com/images/products/359AC.jpg That's the ticket. Good to know. I've been on a strange old microphon...

Aaaand... I did it. Worked like a charm. Thanks for the gentle push. Weird mic - looks and sounds like it was meant for radio or something. It's heavy as a brick and the wire was a chore to strip. You could beat a man with this thing and then hang him with the cord. Ahem... Anyways. I'm still curiou...

What kind of connector?
Got this mic on eBay shipped from Ukraine. Thought from the pictures that it was an XLR connector - but it's not. Nor is it mini-xlr (those are too small.) This is just slightly smaller than an XLR and has a screw on style connector. Wondering if anyone knows what the heck this is - I was thinking a...
