Using limp mass behind or inside a wall is really about pressure based low end management. You won't get any appreciable sound isolation benefits from mlv.

Metal film that turns sound energy into heat? I've never heard of that. I do know that the parent company (serious materials/energy) of the quiet (rock, seal, etc) company has moved away from acoustic solutions and more into energy related projects. Any of the pre-manufactured acoustic wall board so...

Too small a space for the angled walls to matter. The key to avoiding "woof" will be the internal dimensions and sufficient internal treatment ( 703 etc).

Acoustically speaking, square spaces reinforce modes and will not sound pleasant. Avoiding That will be very helpful.

Yes, err on the side of more than you need. Tough to make them longer, easy to zip tie up any excess. You won't run into any signal loss until you start hitting 100+ foot lengths. The mogami name doesn't have ANYTHING to do with the quality of the wire, just the jacket. Plenty of wire hits the same ...

This will work great as a perimeter seal /caulk Under sheet material or a plastic vapor barrier. It's not a gg substitute. The lp has a much thicker consistency and would create a triple leaf effect between sheets of wall board. You'd be better off just doubling up the wall board material and using ...

Screws will NOT save you time. You will likely split and ruin 20% or more of the blocks. A trim nail gun with a dab of glue is a quick and easy way to go.....but not screws.

I mean you can totally do it with screws but it won't be quicker or easier.

I've vacated windows in the past with black painted Sheetrock facing the outside. It gives a clean look.... Never had a problem with it.

Wurli 145 tube electric piano

Reverb listing http://rvrb.io/1950-s-145-3tc Tube driven wurli 145. Think Ray Charles, Aretha franklin and...apparently thom Yorke is into these as well. Super cool trem, great action and sweet tones. Fresh out of the shop works great. Apparently these can fetch near $5k? I'm asking $1800 but feel f...

I don't think the windows will warp. Is the exterior window vinyl?

You should be able to add another window assembly to your room/in/room situation and not have too much stc loss. Make a tunnel from inside to outside window...

You'll notice a significant boost in isolation with rc installed Sheetrock. As far as it sounding different in the room....probably not. My ears tell me that rooms with a damped layer (green glue etc) installation are different sounding than those with un damped Sheetrock. I haven't done any testing...

Drywall is the material of choice for interior surfaces because it is the cheapest wall material available....both from a materials and a labor/installation standpoint. Certainly other sheet material will work. But each seam/joint will need special attention and treatment. For example you could add ...

Right on. The problem with inside out walls is isolation. As in....you won't have much isolation. Acoustic treatment is relatively easy to add to a room after the walls are up. If your contractor is not well versed in studio building techniques, you will be much happier if he/she builds a tight simp...
