I asked a while back about this and I think they're boxing 5.X in the big box and will upgrade to 6 for free when the basic Logic 6 is available (equivalent to Silver). audiomidi.com will tell you everything you want to know.

If you know somebody with Emagic Logic, it has a very nice function called "audio to score" that creates a midi track from your audio track and it's spot on. I love it!
